Pompom for Android TV & Google TV
Last updated 22 October 2026
Pompom is a kids' app for Android TV and Google TV that plays only the YouTube episodes you pick. It runs on TVs from TCL, Sony, Hisense, Philips and others, and on Chromecast with Google TV.
How it works on the TV
- Open Pompom on the TV. It shows a QR code and a short code.
- Scan it with your phone, sign in with Google, and choose which kid the TV is for.
- The TV shows that kid's shows as big tiles. Only the episodes you added play.
Made for the remote
Everything works with the arrow keys and OK: big tiles, a simple player (OK to pause, left and right to skip 10 seconds, Back to return). When an episode ends, Pompom goes back to the shows. There's no autoplay and no "next" button.
Lock the TV to Pompom
On Google TV, create a kids profile and allow only Pompom (not the YouTube app). Your kid then stays inside the shows you picked, even if they press Home.
Other TVs
Pompom doesn't run on Fire TV, Roku, Samsung (Tizen) or LG (webOS) yet. A Chromecast with Google TV plugged into any TV works.
